While the Maruti Baleno RS is no longer in production, it is still an enthusiast's delight owing to its powerful turbo-petrol engine and sharper brakes

Earlier this year, Maruti Suzuki decided to discontinue the production of the Baleno RS. This variant suffered from a low demand as compared to the standard one; therefore, the largest India automaker chose not to update the car to comply with the BSVI emission standards. Nevertheless, for those who prefer a more exciting drive than the standard Baleno, the RS makes enough sense, which is mainly because of its powerful 1.0-litre turbo petrol motor. Often, owners of the Baleno RS even take the modification route to make things even spicier. While the black car in the below image seems to be one such example, there's definitely more than meets the eye.

This Maruti Baleno RS is actually a modified Maruti Baleno.

Actually, this Maruti Baleno is not the RS version but a standard Baleno which has been customized to look like an RS one. It's a low-end Delta variant that has been given an all-black exterior paint scheme, Baleno RS-borrowed bumpers and grille, front bumper splitters, black headlight eyelashes, gloss black Transformers sticker on the front doors and black alloy wheels. The customized Baleno also comes with bigger mag wheels with low-profile tyres, aftermarket taillights and a customized exhaust system. The car has also been lowered.

The modified Baleno has been thoroughly customized.

The technical specifications of this modified Maruti Baleno aren't known at this moment but it will not come as a surprise if it comes with features like a performance air filter and a custom header. We can already see an aftermarket muffler tip, whihc could, in fact, be a part of a performance exhaust system. The Baleno Delta is powered by a 1.2-litre gasoline burner which can deliver 83 HP against 113 Nm. On the other hand, the Baleno RS keeps under its hood a 1.0-litre turbo gasoline burner which can deliver 101 PS against 150 Nm. The transmission duties on both of the versions are undertaken by a 5-speed MT unit.
