Maruti XL6 Helps India's Largest Carmaker Capture 51% Market Share in MPV Segment

Maruti XL6 has completed one year in the Indian market. The automaker has sold around 25,000 units of the crossover-style premium MPV through its NEXA retail chain

Maruti XL6 is the 6-seater premium MPV which was launched by the automaker last year. The car has successfully completed one year in the Indian market. The carmaker has managed to retail over 25,000 units of the MPV through 370 Nexa dealerships across the country. With such impressive sales figure, Maruti XL6 has helped the automaker to achieve over 50 per cent market share in the MPV space in India. Features like elegant design, comfortable seating arrangement and efficient engine make the XL6 popular among the buyers.

Right now, Maruti XL6 is offered in two different variants namely- Zeta and Alpha. The Alpha and Zeta automatic trims cost between Rs 10.94 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) to Rs 11.51 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). On the other hand, the Zeta manual trim costs at Rs 9.84 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the Alpha manual variant is priced at Rs 11.51 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It derives power from 1.5-litre NA four-pot petrol unit, which churns out 105bhp of power and 138 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed MT or a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The same engine option does duties in the Ciaz, Ertiga and new S-Cross.

The engine also comes paired with the company’s SHVS mild-hybrid technology to enhanced fuel-efficiency. The 6-seater premium MPV comes loaded with features like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, cruise control, rear A/C vents, height-adjustable driver’s seat, automatic climate control, keyless entry and push start/stop button. In terms of safety features, the MPV gets dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, seat belt reminders and a speed warning system.
