The Korean automaker Hyundai introduced the new-gen Creta in India in March this year and was first showcased early this year at the 2020 Auto Expo. The first-gen model of the SUV was introduced in our market back in 2015. The first-gen Creta was the best-selling SUV in its segment, but the launch of Kia Seltos last year has turned the table around. But, as soon as the new-gen model introduced in our market, the Hyundai Creta again became the top-selling SUV in its segment in May 2020.
Last month, the automaker registered 38,200 units as against 39,010 units with a YoY de-growth of just 2 per cent and most of the Hyundai’s models has recorded a positive sales growth except for Santro, Elantra and Elite i20.
