New Jeep SUV of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor to Officially Launch Next Month

Jeep is a brand known for its heritage of producing some of the most capable offroad vehicles ever. The brand started its operations in India in the year 2017. Since the brand was new in India, the manufacturer provided its products to a few famous celebrities as a part of its marketing strategy. We earlier told you that Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor were seen being driven around in a flashy-red Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, and that the car has been gifted to them by the brand itself. Now, it has come to light that the top-spec variant of the company's popular SUV will officially launch in India next month.

The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has been the most expensive variant of the renowned SUV. It comes packed with not just a gazillion bells and whistles but all the arsenal one might need to tackle the worst of the trails. To name a few, the car gets solid axles at front and rear from Dynatrac, NV241 low-range transfer case with 4.0:1 ratio, 33-inch all-terrain rubbers from BF Goodrich, disconnecting front sway bar, and electronically lockable front and rear differentials as well.

The Rubicon is offered with Jeep’s Rock-Trac 4X4 system and can be had in either 3-door or 5-door configuration. Further aiding the car to excel off the road is 43.9-degree approach angle, 37-degree departure angle, a ramp-over angle of 22.6 degrees, and a ground clearance of 10.8 inches.

Jeep will launch the Wrangler Rubicon with the 2.0L turbo-petrol engine only.

Internationally, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon can be had with a total of 3 engine-gearbox combinations. The options comprises of a 3.6L N/A V6 petrol engine with rated output of 285 HP and 353 Nm, and comes mated with a 6-speed manual transmission, a 2.0L turbocharged petrol that produces 270 HP and 400 Nm, and comes coupled to an 8-speed AT, and a 3.0L turbocharged V6 diesel engine belting out 260 HP and 599 Nm, and comes paired with a 8-speed automatic transmission.

Slated for a launch in March 2020, the India-spec Jeep Wrangler Rubicon will most likely be offered with a 2.0L turbocharged petrol engine and an 8-speed automatic gearbox. However, the engine will be detuned to produce a peak power output of 268 HP and a max. torque of 400 Nm.
