At a time when cars like Maruti S-Presso and WagonR are receiving a lot of flak for their low NCAP scores, Tata Altroz is busy publicizing its 5-star rating
Tata Motors is scoring higher in the reputation ladder for its well-built vehicles. One of the new car launched by Tata earlier this year, the Tata Altroz is also very popular among buyers for its sheer good build quality. Be it the company’s first entry into the premium hatchback, the Tata Altroz competes with the likes of Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20, VW Polo, etc. which are the strong players in the competition. Recently, Tata has released a new TVC for the Altroz that emphasizes on the safety angle of the vehicle.
The new TVC mentions a lot of distinctions that the Tata Altroz has on offer, thus making it a well-loaded premium hatchback car. Features like auto headlamps, touchscreen infotainment system, ambient lighting, multifunction steering wheel as well as 90-degree opening doors, etc. are to name some prominent features available in the vehicle. Under the company’s IMPACT 2.0 design philosophy, the Tata Altroz comes off as one of the most beautiful hatchback cars in the Indian market.
However, that’s not the entire story. Another uniqueness on the Altroz lies on the platform it’s based on. The Tata Altroz is the first vehicle to be underpinned by the ALFA (Agile, Light, Flexible and Advanced) architecture which will also spawn off future Tata models including the upcoming Tata HBX. With this architecture, the Tata Altroz is actually a safe drive. Aside from that, the Altroz is also equipped with a range of safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, high-speed alert, reverse parking sensors as standard alongside a lot of additional features.
Powering the Tata Altroz is a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 85 PS of max power and 114 Nm of peak torque. There’s also a 1.5-litre diesel engine good enough for 90 PS against 200 Nm. Both the engines come coupled with a mere 5-speed manual transmission. A turbocharged version of the Altroz is expected to be launched towards the end of this year while the Tata Altroz Electric is slated to come to us sometime next year.
