Pravaig Extinction Mk1 is developed by a Bangalore based startup company. The electric sedan is expected to come with a range of over 500 km.
Electric cars are leading the trend of the automotive market. In the global market, carmakers are shifting their focus to developing their range of electric vehicles. In the Indian market, some big car manufacturers like Hyundai, MG and Tata Motors have their taken first steps in the EV segment. Besides these well-established car brands, the fledging EV market also has space for startup companies to enter and try their luck. Pravaig Dynamics is also a start-up that is planning to launch its first electric car called Pravaig Extinction Mk1. While it's a bit early to say if the Extinction Mk1 would be as sophisticated as even a Model 3, it won't be a bad idea to draw a parallel between Pravaig Dynamics and Tesla (What do you think?)
Pravaig Extinction Mk1 is scheduled to make its debut next month. Launch of the India-made electric vehicle will enter the market sometime in 2021. More than targeting at the domestic market alone, the Bangalore-based electric carmaker is targeting to set out for the international audience as well.
According to the revealed rendering images, the Extinction Mk1 is a sleek-looking electric two-coupe with a sloping roofline. However, the production version of the electric vehicle will come under the form of a four-door sedan. On the front end production Extinction Mk1 features projector LED headlights with LED strips bridging the two headlights and taillights on the two ends. The same design pattern is used on the rear end. The India-made electric sedan will come with disc brakes for both front and rear wheels, multiple drive modes, regenerative braking and smartphone connectivity system.
In the world of electric vehicles, the drivetrains and ranges are crucial to the success of a model. In order to make itself stand out, Pravaig Extinction Mk1 must bring in an impressive performance. According to the revealed specs on the company’s website, the upcoming sedan will get a 96 kWh li-ion battery pack. The electric drivetrain of the Extinction Mk1 is expected to deliver a maximum power of 200 Bhp and a range of 504 km. At this range, the electric sedan will be the longest-range electric car in India. The top speed of the Pravaig Extinction Mk1 is 196 kmph. As for the charging system, the Pravaig Extinction Mk1 features fast charging facility with up to 80 per cent charge in 30 minutes. It is also possible that Pravaig Dynamics will launch other battery packs which offer different performance outputs.
The launch date and price details of Pravaig Extinction Mk1 are not confirmed yet. However, according to Pravaig’s initial plan, the company is targeting to sell 250 units annually. In the beginning, the car company will start selling its first vehicle in Delhi and Bangalore.
