Pune Factory of Tata Motors Bestowed with the ‘Renewable Energy Excellence End User’ Award

At the Renewable Energy India Awards 2018, Tata’s Pune manufacturing facility was presented with the ‘Renewable Energy Excellence End User’ Title.

The Renewable Energy India Awards 2018, held by UBM India, is the most well-known Renewable Energy Expo in India. The Pune plant, after being carefully evaluated in all the criteria, has been awarded the ‘Renewable Energy Excellence End User’ Title, which acknowledged that it has complied with the ‘RE100 initiative’ and has made every endeavour to reduce climate change. 51% of the plant’s yearly power is collected from renewable energy resources consisting of solar power and wind power.

Commenting on this event, Mr. Satish Borwankar, COO & ED, Tata Motors associated the award with the development of the advanced technologies without affecting sustainable development and committed to continuing to invest in sustainable future. To be more specific, he stated,

“With rapidly evolving automobile landscape, it is vital to have a comprehensive approach for sustainable development of the entire ecosystem. Tata Motors has been paving the way for technology changes in the industry while at the same time striving hard to imbibe sustainable practices in every aspect of the business. We are pleased to have our work at the plant recognized and will continue to invest in building a sustainable future for our employees and our communities.”

The company also showed its gratitude to the passionate employees of Pune facility and praised them for making hard efforts to promote the use of environmental-friendly energies. This Renewable Energy India Award displays the most useful methods utilized by the leaders who spread the idea of creativity and excellence in Renewable Energy. Around 50 companies in India entered the 2018 REI Awards in 17 categories. The jury consisted of some authorized organizations like Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), Central Electricity Authority (CEA) and Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE).
