Skoda Karoq will get its power from a 1.5-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine option. Bookings for the Karoq SUV have commenced for Rs 50,000.
Due to the ongoing unfavourable circumstancs, Skoda Auto India has postponed the launch of its VW T-Roc-rival for a while. Dubbed Skoda Karoq, the all-new SUV will finally see its price announcement on May 6, while its bookings have been underway for a while now. The new model can be booked for a token amount of Rs 50,000. Showcased at the Auto Expo 2020, the Skoda Karoq gained remarkable attention from the press and public. The upcoming premium SUV is expected to be priced quite aggressively at Rs 23 Lakh (estimated, ex-showroom).
Aimed to join the volume-based SUV segment in India, the Skoda Karoq will penetrate into the market through the CBU (Completely Built-Up) route. Hence, it could only go on sale in batches. Nevertheless, there’s a chance of the Karoq entering the local assembly as long if the Czech automotive company can see a suitably high demand among the buyers.
Upon its launch, the Skoda Karoq will fight tooth and nails with the C-segment SUVs like Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass or the forthcoming MG Hector Plus and Tata Gravitas.
The all-new Karoq is promised to be a well-equipped premium SUV. It will come with an upmarket interior that is loaded with an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof, digital instrument cluster, SmartLink connectivity, dual-zone temperature control and virtual cockpit. Other outstanding features on the Skoda Karoq include Stone Beige leather seats, 12-way electrically-adjustable driver seat, dual-tone interior theme, nine airbags, ABS with EBD and ESC, ParkTronic, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and more.
Under the hood, the Skoda Karoq will source the power from a 1.5-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine outputting 150 HP and 250 Nm of torque. Transmission choice will comprise of a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission only. The Skoda Karoq is claimed to do the 0 – 100 kmph acceleration in around 9 seconds before hitting the top speed of 202 kmph.
