Tata Motors registered 23,600 units sales in October 2020, posting the highest sales in 99 months. Also, it overtook Mahindra and Mahindra on the monthly sales charts
Tata Motors is seeing a commendable sales success in Indian in recent months, irrespective of the difficulties caused by the global pandemic. The country’s largest home-grown carmaker has reported a total sales number of 23,600 units in October 2020, registering a 79% year-on-year sales increase and an 11% growth on monthly basis. Do note that the last time Tata witnessed its sales crossing 23,000 mark was in July 2012.
Tata’s astonishing feats were added up by its all-new Tata Altroz while the Tata Nexon, Tiago and Harrier also contributed largely to the sales of the company. Do remember that the Tiago and Nexon just received mid-life updates with additional features earlier this year. Particularly, Tata Nexon has beaten Tiago to become the best-selling Tata car in India in October 2020.
This is the third time Tata Nexon becomes the brand’s biggest sales garner ever since the Tiago was introduced in 2016. The compact hatchback was defeated by the Nexon back in May 2019 and March 2020. What’s more interesting is that the Tiago has been dethroned by the Altroz as well, sliding to the third spot in Tata’s monthly sales charts last month.
The Tata Nexon becomes the most popular Tata car in India in October with the sales figure of 6,888 units, which translates into a 55% sales growth as against 4,438 units in the year-ago period. As for the month-on-month sales, the Tata Nexon also witnesses a 15 per cent increase when compared to 6,007 units sold in September 2020. This is the highest sales of the Nexon ever since it was launched in 2017.
Tata Altoz was the second best-selling product from the company in India last month, with the sales standing at 6,730 units. Tata Altroz is the youngest player here. The car was launched just a couple of months back, marking the company’s first entrant into the premium hatchback segment.
Tata is gearing up for the arrivals of three new cars including the 7-seat version of the Harrier – Tata Gravitas, the Tata Altroz Turbo and the new Tata Hexa.
