Tata Nexon EV Bookings Officially Opened, Launch To Happen Next Month

Yesterday, we broke the news about the official unveiling of the fully-electric SUV, Tata Nexon EV in India. Today, bookings for the car has been commenced as the company has opened the pre-booking portal for the SUV. Customers now can pre-book the SUV for a token amount of Rs 21,000. The price announcement of the Tata Nexon EV would take place sometime in early 2020.

Talking about the design, the all-new Nexon EV receives some slight cosmetic tweaks upfront to deviate itself from the regular version. The projector headlamps now become sleeker and sharply designed than before. The grille now gets glossy black treatments while the lower bumper sits an all-new tri-star grille finished in electric-blue colour. There’re also angular C-shaped fog lamp housings that add more to the muscular visual appeal.

The side profile features new alloy wheels that enhance the aggression and sportiness quotient of the SUV. The rear end now gets a new rear bumper and taillamps as parts of the changes on the car’s exterior package. On the inside, the all-new Tata Nexon EV sports a new part-digital instrument cluster which boasts of an analogue speedometer and a digital tachometer. The interior comes with blue colour-coded bits along with tri-arrow patterns on the upholstery.

The Tata Nexon EV comes with a new design and a fully-electric powertrain

The fully-electric Tata Nexon measures 3,995 mm long, 1,811 wide, and 1,607 mm high along with the wheelbase of 2,498 mm. It makes use of a 30.2 kWh battery pack that generates power to a single electric motor, all to churn out a combined power of 129PS and 254Nm of torque. The car takes around 9.9 seconds to travel up from 0 to 100 kmph. The precise range it can do is yet to be revealed but we expect it to be rated at around 300 km.
