The Tata Tiago EV is a battery-powered version of Tiago hatchback launched by Tata Motors in 2016. The new vehicle is expected to be introduced to India auto market in November this year.
The Tata Tiago EV was first showcased by Tata Motors European Technical Centre (TMETC) in Millbrook, UK, which was followed by its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo. Tata Tiago EV will be powered by a 3-phase AC induction engine which can produce a max power of 40 BHP and a peak torque of 90 Nm. It will utilize a lithium-ion battery pack and the power will be sent to the four wheels through an automatic gearbox.

The performance of the Tata Tiago EV will be improved, thanks to the novel electric engine with a single-speed automatic gearbox which can help the car accelerate from a standstill to 100kmph in more than 11 seconds and reach a max speed of 135kmph. The power driving system with smoothly operating pedals would allow the driver to drive more easily and comfortably during traffic jams. The suspension system is expected to include the front McPherson strut with coil spring suspension and the rear semi-independent twist beam suspension.
