Tata Motors Unveils New Tata Tigor EV Powered by Ziptron Tech

It is Tata Motors' 2nd EV offering for the personal segment.

Following the stupendous success of the Tata Nexon EV, Tata Motors is now gearing up to launch its second EV offering for the personal segment - the new Tata Tigor EV. The company has unveiled the new electric sedan in the signature teal blue colour.

The new Tata Tigor EV is powered by Ziptron tech - Tata Motors’ well-proven state-of-the-art high voltage electric architecture that made its debut with the Nexon EV. The new electric sedan has been developed based on three pillars - Technology, Comfort, and Safety. Tata Motors has started accepting bookings for the new Tigor EV at select dealerships for an amount of Rs 21,000.

Powered by the Ziptron tech, the new Tata Tigor EV delivers a peak power output of 55 kW and a peak torque of 170 Nm. It can achieve 60 kmph from a standstill in 5.7 seconds. The 26 kWh Lithium-ion battery pack is efficiently packaged, providing the highest on-board energy in the segment. It offers superior driving dynamics and handling aided by a lower Centre of Gravity and a balanced suspension setup offering a comfortable ride.

The Tigor EV has got an IP 67 rated battery pack and motor to make it weather and worry-proof and comes with an 8 year and 1,60,000 km battery and motor warranty. It is based on a proven platform with Rear Crash compatible structure and also complies with ODB 64 test standard.

The Impact-Resistant Battery Pack casing of Tigor EV complies with AIS - 048 standard for nail penetration at Cell Level. The new Tigor EV is compatible with a globally acceptable CCS2 charging protocol and can be fast-charged as well as slow charged from any 15 A plug point.
