Toyota Fortuner Facelift To Launch Soon - Will Offer More GRUNT

Toyota Fortuner will receive a facelift upgrade next year. The SUV will get some new cosmetic updates along with new powertrain settings.

Toyota Fortuner is a key product on Toyota’s product line-up in the Indian market. At the moment, Indian-spec Toyota Fortuner is in its second generation. It is expected that Toyota will bring the facelifted version of Toyota Fortuner to India in early 2021.

Toyota Fortuner facelift will enter the Indian market in early 2021

According to some reports, Toyota Fortuner facelift will keep the same 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel engine under its hood. However, this engine will be revised to be more powerful than the existing version. After receiving new updates, the Toyota Fortuner will be able to churn out 201 Bhp and 500 Nm, which is higher than the existing engine by 27 Bhp and 50 Nm.

Under the current avatar, the 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel engine is capable of 175bhp of power at 3,400rpm and a peak torque of 450Nm at 1,600-2,400rpm. This engine is available with either a 6-speed automatic gearbox or a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Along with the 2.8-litre diesel engine, the India-spec Toyota Fortuner facelift will also receive a 2.7-litre turbocharged petrol engine which generates 164 Bhp and 245 Nm of torque. Transmission options for this engine include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.

Besides the engine updates, the facelift Toyota Fortuner also comes with some notable cosmetic changes, especially on the front end. For the rest of the design, Toyota Fortuner will stay mostly the same. There will be a more dominant mesh grille, redesigned LED headlamps, LED DRLs, new bumper, revised fog lamps housing and new silver skid plate. The only styling update for the side profile is the new set of 18-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the Fortuner facelift will feature an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Other new features include a new instrument console, 8-way powered front seats, 360-degree camera, and wireless charging. Before the launch of the Toyota Fortuner facelift, Toyota will roll out the Toyota Innova Crysta facelift. Bookings for the new Toyota Innova Crysta is now available at Toyota’s dealerships. Deliveries of the new Innova Crysta will begin by the end of this month or early next month.
