Volkswagen Polo facelift is approaching. The facelift Polo is expected to arrive with cosmetic and mechanical updates.

Volkswagen is gearing toward the launch of the facelift Volkswagen Polo. On the recent spy pictures, the facelift Volkswagen is seen without camouflage, indicating that these new models are delivered to the dealerships.

Cosmetically, the new Volkswagen Polo comes with just a couple of mild updates. The old bumper is replaced with a sharper design which sets the fog light and the air ventilation grille apart. Also, the horizontally-slatted grille is now replaced with a honey-comb pattern. The same 15-inch wheels are kept.

Besides the cosmetic updates, the new Volkswagen Polo is about to get new engine line-up

Currently, Volkswagen Polo is available with a 1.2-litre TSI turbo petrol engine, 1.0-litre MPI naturally aspirated petrol unit and a 1.5L TDI turbocharged diesel engine. On the upcoming new facelift models, these engines will see changes. The 1.0-litre petrol which develops 76PS and 95Nm will be upgraded to comply with the BSVI norms, so does the diesel engine. While the 1.2-litre engine is likely to be dwindled to a 1.0 unit to meet the new regulations.

The facelift is expected to come with a price hike of around Rs 40.000 and Rs 60.000. At the moment, the old Volkswagen Polo is priced from Rs 5.71 lakh to  Rs 9.72 lakh. It will continue to challenge the likes of Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the newly-launched Toyota Glanza. Besides, the new Volkswagen Vento is also due to receive new updates.
