Stupidity: Man Records 10-Year Old Kid Driving A Tata Nexon

Driving a car does not only mean to know how to operate the car’s control. The driver has to be capable enough to make fast and wise inputs in milliseconds. And it isn’t a God-gifted talent that people are born with. Instead, driving is a skill that has to be honed with experience and practice. However, some of us think of the complete driving process as a child’s play. For the same reason, they let their toddlers enjoy the steering wheel and the driving seat with the car in motion. Moreover, Indian parents often record their kids while they are driving a car. Here’s a video, which showcases something similar. The video was uploaded on YouTube by Karunesh Kaushal.

It can be seen in the video that a kid is driving the car while his father is recording him. This act of sheer stupidity might recoil back to the father in a very strong way. As the legal age of applying for a driver’s license in India is 18 years, however, this kid has hardly turned 10 yet. And, the new amendment in the Motor Vehicle Act dictates that in such a case, parents or guardians of the minor will be apprehended.

The road that kid is driving on, does not seem like private property or a closed road. It appears to be a state highway, given the standards of the barricades, which are mounted on the sides. And, it can be way too risky for this dad-son duo and other road users. The kid is not tall enough to sit comfortably on the seat. He sits on the front edge of the driver’s seat, close to the steering wheel. He is not wearing a seat belt as well. Misdemeanour of a lot of traffic rules and regulation can be seen here.

The car in the video is a Tata Nexon. It is the manual variant of the car. The clutch on the Nexon’s manual gearbox has a long travel; therefore the kid can be seen having a tough time dealing with the gearshifts. However, in simpler words, these visuals are disturbing and annoying. Since the roads are meant to improve connectivity across a nation, such acts result in increased hazards on the roads.
