The 2020 Mahindra Thar has proved itself an instant hit of the brand in the fast track, which was, in fact, the biggest grouse of the older-gen Thar SUVs. However, how could the new Thar perform in a narrow off-road track? Here’s a video uploaded by Rajeev R on his official youtube channel that answers this question. The Thar featured in the video is a soft-top convertible model that is being driven down a steep narrow path under the ground. It appears that this was done as part of some off-road events that the Thar joined in.

The 2020 Mahindra Thar has 27-degree break-over angle and initially, it went inside the narrow track smoothly. Once it hit the bottom, the driver had to keep the speed low and needed a guide since the visibility is limited in the narrow track. Inside the pit, there were several cramped turns and the Mahindra Thar managed to handle all of them without too many difficulties thanks to the short wheelbase. At some turns, the space is so tight that the driver of the Thar had to back up a bit to get more room. As you can see from the video, the path was so cramped that it Thar was hardly fitting in it. However, keeping the Thar at slow speeds and getting torque multiplication did help much in driving the car out of the tricky situation.
