The deliveries of the 2020 Mahindra Thar have already begun across the country. Below is one of the earliest ownership reviews of the off-road SUV.
The 2020 Mahindra Thar is becoming more and more popular with the rapidly increasing demand and waiting period. In the meanwhile, its deliveries have also begun across India with over 2000 - 2500 units delivered in the country. Below is an ownership review of the LX Diesel Manual Hard Top variant of the Mahindra Thar almost two weeks after the car was delivered to the owner's garage on November 7.
The owner is one of the earliest 2020 Mahindra Thar’s owners in Delhi DNR. He purchased the SUV with a cost of INR 16.14 lakh (on-road price), including accessories worth INR 50,000. After owning the car for almost two weeks and driving for around 1,500 kilometres, the owner has realized some of its pros and cons.
Firstly, the acceleration feels very brisk and quick. The car can reach a maximum speed of about 160 kmph, which seems adequate. Moreover, it feels very stable and confident while operating at high speeds, which is such an improvement over the old Thar.
As regards the comfort, the driver feels that the footwell area is quite limited, which is such a nuisance in long drives. Another improvement over the outgoing model is the wider range of features that the new Thar is packed with. Since he started driving the car, the owner has filled up diesel worth INR 10,000, which translates into an fuel mileage of almost 12-13 kmph.
Overall, the 2020 Mahindra Thar makes the owner quite satisfied; he feels it is a real VFM product. Nevertheless, he still complains that he was made purchase the accessories worth INR 50,000 for what he could have actually got for only INR 10,000.
