Check out the five best used sports and supercars driven by the cricket stars of India, which includes Bentleys, Lamborghinis, BMWs, and Porsches!
Indian cricketers are not just athletes, they are celebrities in their own rights. With cricket being the most popular game in India, it’s no surprise that cricket players are significantly better-off than other sportspeople in our country. Of course, celebrities need some fancy rides, right? Absolutely! There, however, are a few cricket stars who have second-hand supercar and sportscars in their collection.
Buying used sportscars and supercars is not uncommon. Usually, carmakers tend to quickly replace or upgrade the vehicles in their line-up, to keep up with the competition. The older ones still remain desirable, and some people buy a used one if they can find one. The depreciation on used cars is also lower than new ones, so that is also a factor worth considering while making the purchase. Here, we list the five best used supercars and sportscars driven by Indian Cricketers.
Bentley Continental GT – Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli is the proud owner of a Bentley Continental GT W12, one of the most luxurious mile-munching vehicles ever built. The car is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, with 500 PS and 660 Nm of maximum power and torque, respectively. All that power is harnessed via an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox and gets sent to all the four wheels. According to reports, this particular car bought by Virat Kohli was a used car.
Lamborghini Murcielago – Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj Singh loves delivering a power-packed performance on the field. It isn’t a surprise then that he bought himself a Lamborghini Murcielago LP-640. The raging bull is known for building some of the maddest cars in existence, and the Murcielago is one of the finest examples of such cars. The supercar carries a 6.5-litre V12 engine, capable 640 PS and 660 Nm. A 6-speed ‘e-gear’ automatic transfers the power to all four wheels of the car. There was a 6-speed manual version as well, but it wasn’t as popular and never introduced in India. The Murcielago was discontinued in 2010, replaced by the equally mad Aventador.
BMW X6M – Yuvraj Singh
A Lamborghini isn’t the only used car in Yuvraj Singh’s garage. He also has a BMW X6M, a performance-oriented version of the BMW’s SAC (Sports Activity Coupe is what BMW called the X6). The BMW X6M is powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8. The maximum power figure is a 567 PS and the peak torque is a healthy 750 Nm. Interestingly, this particular X6M was previously owned by Dilip Chhabria, the owner of DC Design.
BMW M5 – Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj Singh has also bought one of best sports-saloon of all time- a BMW M5 (E60). The E60 model was available from 2005 to 2010. It had a 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V10, capable of generating 500 PS and 520 Nm. The power was sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed ‘SMG III’ gearbox, the fastest shifting automatic at that time. There was a 6-speed manual on offer as well, but it was available in limited numbers only. Yuvraj Singh bought his M5 from BBT (Big Boyz Toyz) and has been seen multiple times on Buddh International Circuit, driving his lovely Bimmer.
Porsche 911 Turbo S – Dinesh Kartik
Wicket-keeper and batsman Dinesh Kartik also bought himself one of the best sportscars in the world, a Porsche 911 Turbo S. His Porsche is powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo boxer-6 engine. This motor generates a 575 PS and 700 Nm. It came paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox and a four-wheel-drive system. Just like Yuvraj Singh’s BMW M5, Dinesh Kartik’s 911 Turbo S was bought from Big Boyz Toyz and has been customised. The taillights are clear-lens LEDs, and the rear spoiler has a tri-colour design with a big ‘Porsche’ logo on it.
