Check Out This Unseen Video Of a Young Shahrukh Khan in his Mitsubishi Pajero SFX
Here is a little-known short video which shows a young Shahrukh Khan driving his Mitsubishi Pajero SFX
Known as the “King of Bollywood”, Shahrukh Khan owns an admirable collection of luxury cars, especially SUVs. The first car that made its entry to Shahrukh Khan’s garage was a modest Maruti 800, which had a humble price of a few thousand rupees (his newest car is a Range Rover Vogue, priced at a few crores). Between them, many models were enlisted in Shahrukh Khan’s car collection but the public knows little about them.

Mitsubishi Pajero SFX was one of these cars. It used to be driven by the Bollywood star more than one decade ago. Firstly, let’s have a look at the little-known footage in which Shahrukh Khan drove his Mitsubishi Pajero SFX.

The video implies that a long time before the Mitsubishi Pajero SFX was officially launched India, it had already been delivered to Shahrukh Khan’s garage directly from Japan, thanks to the similar left-handed traffic between the two countries. The Mitsubishi Pajero SFX also originated from Japan where it was fully manufactured in the Mitsubishi factory. After that, the SUV was imported to India through the complete knocked-down route and then assembled Hindustan Motors’ factory at Tiruvallur, off Chennai.

Although at first, the Mitsubishi Pajero SFX was offered in India as a premium SUV, the car was popular with the Indian auto buyers for its ruggedness and reliability rather than for its luxury like in other markets. Thanks to its practical nature, the Mitsubishi Pajero SFX was able to smoothly travel on all terrains, which is one of the unique selling points of the iconic SUV. This may be the reason why Shahrukh Khan chose this vehicle as one of his favourite cars more than a decade ago.
Under the hood of the Mitsubishi Pajero SFX was only one motor option a 2.8L 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine which was good for a maximum power of 120 bhp and a peak torque of 280 Nm. The transmission duties were undertaken by a standard 5-speed MT gearbox. An all-wheel drive system with both low and high ratios was available.
The great off-road capabilities of the Mitsubishi Pajero SFX is what makes the vehicle popular with the Indian auto buyers
When the BS-IV emission standards were put into effect, the Japanese automaker needed to upgrade the Mitsubishi Pajero SFX’s motor, which resulted in a reduction of more than 10 horses in the power output. The diesel motor of the SUV at that time generated only108 bhp against 280 Nm. This power decrease did not make the SUV less popular with the Indian auto buyers, who were fans of its indestructible nature, even in the roughest road conditions in India. The Mitsubishi Pajero SFX was discontinued several years ago, but until now, it is still memorized as an iconic SUV by the Indian auto buyers for its impressive off-road capabilities.
