Mahindra Thar is one of the most popular off-roaders with the Indian auto buyers. But due to budget limits, many people cannot afford one. Can a mere low-priced 2WD hatchback like the Chevrolet Spark perform as well as the Mahindra Thar when going off-road? The answer is definitely “No”. But the case can be different when the small car has been specifically modified for the off-road purpose. Recently, a video which shows the two vehicles go off-road has been released on the Fat Biker Vaibhav Youtube channel. Firstly, have a look at the video.
Although the Chevrolet Spark has been shelved, it is still on sale in the used car market. The vehicle in the video has been thoroughly customized to make it more off-road capable. To be more specific, in terms of the exterior, the most significant modification can be realized on the side profile with a new set of bigger and wider tyres. To spare the space for the new tyres, the front bumper has given way to a modified aftermarket bumper. The front also gets aftermarket LED lamps. The rear bumper has also been customized to enhance the appearance of the Spark and create space for the new tyres. Moreover, the Spark also looks more appealing, thanks to the smoked taillights.
There are also two cameras mounted to the car: one in the front and the other in the rear, which can help the car detect obstacles when going off-road. The Spark hatchback is also equipped with a kit of wooden planks which can be utilized as a supporting pad for the tyres or to place the jack on soft surfaces. Also, many electrical alterations have also been done to the vehicle. All of these features make the Spark look like a real off-roader.
