Ford EcoSport is all set to receive a major design change by next year. Here's a rendering that gives an idea of what it might look like.

Ford EcoSport is the oldest contender in its segment. Launched in the Indian market in 2011, the EcoSport has been kept away from any significant updates. However, Ford is now planning to lend it with some freshness. We earlier reported a spy image of a Ford SUV, which is said to be the next-gen Ford EcoSport. This spied car is internally codenamed as CX757, and it boasts of a very-futuristic front fascia. However, the overall appeal of the nose of this spied vehicle looks more MPV-ish than SUV-ish. After drawing inspiration from this spy shot, Omkar Surve Design has come up with a neat rendering of the 2021 Ford EcoSport.

The rendered EcoSport gets the front facet design of the CX757, and it looks rather quirky. While the front facet looks rather futuristic, the overall design of the car remains the same. With a massive grille on the front that also houses LED whiskers, the face of the rendered EcoSport looks weird. The headlamp assemblies are placed lower down on the bumper and to the extreme edges. Such designs are often seen on Korean MPVs. But, if Ford can bring some cohesiveness between the front facet and the overall design of the car, it might turn out to be a great looking one.

As reported earlier, the spy images reveal a front camera, mounted under the blue oval logo. Thus, it is expected that updated Ford EcoSport will either come with front and rear parking cameras or a 360-degree parking camera setup. It is likely to get a longer feature list this time, which might bring back the much-loved SYNC3 connectivity suite.

For the powertrain options, 2021 Ford EcoSport will borrow the 1.2L turbo-petrol motor and 1.5L turbo-diesel from Mahindra. The turbo-petrol engine will be the mStallion motor that was showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. It is capable of putting out 130 PS and 230 Nm as its max output. The 1.5L oil burner is the mHawk unit that does duties on the XUV300 and dishes out 118 PS and 300 Nm. The transmission options on these engines will include a 6-speed MT and 6-speed AMT.
