Mahindra Thar Rescues a Stuck Land Rover Discovery

Many people around India believe that an expensive SUV is much more capable and will be able to counter all the difficulties without any hassle, but most of the times, that’s not the case. Expensive SUVs indeed come loaded with some additional technologies and features that help them during off-roading, but these expensive machines can also get stuck. And sometimes they need the help of a budget off-roader. A recent video, uploaded by the YouTube channel of one Lokesh Swami, pretty much shows the same.

The video shows a Land Rover Discovery doing off-roading in an off-road course with many other cars around. The price of a brand new Land Rover Discovery is more the 50 lakhs, which makes it multiple times costlier than Mahindra Thar or Force Gurkha. The video starts by showing all the vehicles countering different obstacles around and then lined-up to cross a faux water crossing. One can see in the video a few Mahindra Thar crossing that puddle of water effortlessly. It seems to be an easy task for the Mahindra off-roader. The Land Rover Discovery is an expensive car, the driver entered that puddle carefully and also slow the speed of the SUV than other cars.

And because of the low momentum, the expensive SUV got stuck in the artificial crossing. The driver tried real hard to come out of the puddle, but the road-biased tyres kept on spinning on the same spot, and the car could not gain enough traction to come out of the obstacle. At last, a person got inside the puddle and tied a towing rope to the back of the Discovery. Afterwards, Mahindra Thar pulled out the expensive Land Rover SUV from the puddle. Moreover, the side cladding on the door sill of the Discovery has also got damaged in the rescuing process. The Land Rover Discovery got stuck in the puddle of water because of its lower ground clearance and wheel spinning at the same spot for a longer period of time.
