Mahindra Marazzo (4-star NCAP) Collides With Truck, Driver Safe

Mahindra introduced the Marazzo to take on the likes of Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Innova Crysta. The carmaker fitted it right in between the two with its price ranging between Rs. 9.99 lakh to Rs. 14.76 lakh. However, the car is not on sale as of now because it is yet to get a BS-6 compliant powerhouse. But it will be getting one soon. The Marazzo is designed by the Mahindra-owned Italian design house – Pininfarina. And, they’ve done a wonderful job in helping the Marazzo have distinctly MPV proportions but with a big dose of style. The MPV has scored a 4-star crash test rating by Global NCAP. Recently, we came across pictures of a Marazzo that met with an accident and proved that it can ensure the safety of the occupants.

In the pictures, it can be seen that the Marazzo met with a major accident. It was a side-impact from a truck. In comparison to the truck, Marazzo absorbed the impact gracefully. The rocker panels of the car have managed to absorb the energy without transferring it to the passenger cabin. The pillars and the roof have experienced major damage and have lost their original shape.

Luckily, the Marazzo was occupied only by its driver at the time of the accident and he walked out of the mangled mattle without any injury to speak of. It is commendable that the driver didn't sustain any injury in such a terrible accident. Talking of the truck, its cabin has undergone complete deformation as both the A-pillars failed to stay in shape. The truck driver suffered injuries and was hospitalised. However, his current health status is unknown.
