Back in October 2020, MG Motors launched its flagship SUV named Gloster in our market. It got popular among the buyers for its massive looks and feature-loaded cabin. In India, it directly rivals with the likes of Ford Endeavour. The Ford SUV is the flagship car in the American automaker’s stable. Here’s a recent drag race video between both SUVs. This drag race video has been uploaded by a YouTube channel named Gaadiwaadi. Mechanically, the MG Gloster derives power from a 2.0-litre turbocharged and a 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel engine. The former develops 161bhp of power and 375 Nm of torque, while the latter produces power and torque outputs of 215bhp and 280 Nm. Transmission duties are done by an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The MG Gloster you see here is propelled by the 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel mill. On the other hand, the Ford Endeavour is powered EcoBlue diesel engine, which is capable of shredding out power and torque outputs of 168bhp and 420 Nm. The engine comes paired with a 10-speed AT. On paper, MG Gloster is much more powerful than the Ford SUV.
Talking about the drag race, in total, the vlogger conducted three rounds, and the drivers were also changed to get accurate results. In the first race, MG Gloster effortlessly takes the lead and wins the race. In the second round, the Ford Endeavour had a great start, but after a few seconds, the MG SUV takes the lead and wins the race by a small margin. In the last race, the drivers were exchanged, but the results remain the same, the MG Gloster easily surpasses Ford Endeavour and wins the drag race by a huge gap. This simply shows that MG Gloster is more powerful than Ford Endeavour. However, the drag race between the turbocharged trim of MG Gloster and Ford Endeavour would be quite fierce. In the Indian market, MG Gloster is retailed at a starting price of Rs 35.03 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
