This is the first modified pre-facelift model to get the updates that reflect the changes on the 2021 Maruti Swift. Check out for more details.
Last month, Maruti has launched the facelift version of the popular hatchback, Maruti Swift. The new Swift continues to dominate the segment. Compared to the previous model, the facelifted model comes with some exterior updates along with feature enhancements and a reworked engine. Overall, the signature styling of the Maruti Swift remains the same. That being said, it is undeniable that the new updates really work wonders for the new Swift. Moreover, it also means that the owners of the old version can easily modify their cars into the updated version. Here is a good example of this.
This old-version Maruti Swift is modified to look like the new facelift Swift
This modified model is owned by our friend Abhay Rajpurohit. In fact, this is not the first time we covered his modified Swift. In fact, previously, his Swift was introduced with some minor but sporty updates that look pretty good on the Swift. After the launch of the new Swift facelift, Abhay Rajpurohit decided to refresh his Swift again to look in line with the new Swift.
The latest updates of his Swift reflect the changes of the new Swift. For example, the front end now comes with a new grille pattern that is similar to the facelift model. The best part is that these updates only cost Rs 1700. Moreover, this is probably the first pre-facelift Maruti Swift to get the updated grille in India.
Apart from the new grille design, this Maruti Swift also gets other sporty styling modifications, including a front bumper splitter, sporty 15-inch alloy wheels from the Ciaz, side skirts and a rear diffuser. These are all genuine accessories that can be brought to Maruti’s showrooms or service centres. In addition, the owners also made uses of other aftermarket accessories like a sporty rear spoiler, black stripes for the front fenders.
The mechanical parts of the Maruti Swift are powered by a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol mill of the pre-facelift version. This motor is good for 82 PS of maximum power and 113 Nm of peak torque. On the facelifted model, this engine is updated to deliver more power. The power figure is increased to 89 PS while the torque number remains the same. It continues to be available with two transmission options, a 5-speed MT and an AMT. Moreover, the fuel efficiency of the Maruti Swift also increased from 21.21 kmpl to 23.20 kmpl (MT) and 23.76 kmpl (AMT). In addition, Maruti also added new fuel tone exterior options, including:
Pearl Arctic White with Pearl Midnight Black Roof
Solid Fire Red with Pearl Midnight Black Roof
Pearl Metallic Midnight Blue with Pearl Arctic White Roof
At launch, the facelift Maruti Swift is priced from Rs 5.73 lakh and top out at Rs 8.41 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India).
