Here's a small subscription model comparison between Tata Nexon EV and MG ZS EV. Both SUVs are among the top-selling EVs in India.

Electric vehicles have started getting quite popular in India as many carmakers have launched or are planning to introduce their EV in our market. Tata Nexon is among the leading EVs in India as it is the top-selling electric car. Tata Motors has already sold 3,000 units of the Nexon EV. MG ZS EV is also becoming popular among buyers. The automaker has retailed 1,000 units of the car and is the second most selling electric car in India. These figures do not seem a lot, but there are commercial vehicles as well as public transport, which have electric powertrain but are not included because they belong to a bigger segment in India.
EVs are quite expensive in India, but to make them relatively more affordable, one can also opt for a subscription plan. We guess that it will take a few years for EVs to become more affordable for the mass public. This will include lower battery cost and the development of charging infrastructure.

A subscription plan is basically a monthly payment plan to use the vehicle and all the other costs like maintenance cost, insurance and road tax will be managed by the company. A person can use the vehicle for 12-24-36 months or a particular number of kilometres every year and then return the car at the end of your tenure. Tata Nexon EV has almost thrice as many customers as that of the MG ZS EV. Talking about Tata Nexon EV, it gets a battery pack of 30.20 kWh capacity, which offers a range of 312km. It is capable of shredding out power and torque outputs of 129bhp and 245 Nm. The monthly subscription fee for Nexon EV is Rs 29,500 for 3 years. The longer the subscription tenure, the lower will be the monthly fee. This subscription is available in three cities right now namely- Delhi/NCR, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

On the other hand, the MG ZS EV is quite amazing in terms of overall specifications. MG is a new brand in India, and it’s pretty hard for people to easily open to an EV from a new carmaker. MG ZS EV is offered for subscription in four major cities Delhi/NCR, Pune, Bengaluru and Mumbai. It features a 44.5kWh battery pack, which offers a total range of 340km. This battery pack develops 143bhp of power and 353 Nm of torque. It is offered with a monthly subscription fee of Rs 49,999 for three years. There a difference of Rs 20,000 between the subscription plan of both the electric SUVs.
