Tata Nexon Crashes Into Barrier at 80 kmph, Keeps All SAFE

Here are a few images of pre-facelift Tata Nexon, which hits a barrier at 80kmph. The SUV has scored a 5-star rating on the Global NCAP crash test.

Last month, Tata Nexon was the top-selling car in the automaker’s stable. The SUV helped the carmaker to secure third spot on the monthly sales tally. Tata Nexon is highly loved by enthusiasts around the country for its aggressive looks, long list of feature and 5-star Global NCAP crash rating. Several images of accidents where Tata SUV is involved can be easily seen on social media platforms. Recently, we got our hands on a new set of images uploaded by Rajeev Kumar Srivastava online. In the pictures, the pre-facelift model of Nexon can be seen resting on three wheels as it fell off the road.

As per reports, the accident took place in Bankura, West Bengal. Luckily, everyone sitting inside the car walked out with minor scratches and bruises. Talking about the damages, the front fascia and roof of the car got crushed. The SUV fell off the road, it collided with the roadside barrier, which damages the front bumper, grille and fog lamp housing. The owner of the car shared images of his Nexon on social media and was very much impressed by the overall built quality of the car. Right now, the facelift version of the SUV is on sale in the Indian market. It comes loaded with a lot of safety features as standard fitment.

The list of safety features include ABS with EBD, LED DRLs, traction control, pre-tensioners, roll-over mitigation, seat belts with load limiters, hill hold assist, brake disc wiping, hill hold assist, reverse parking sensors, seat belt alarm, high-speed alert and much more. The ongoing model of the SUV is offered with two different engine options- a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel unit. The former develops 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of peak torque, while the latter is capable of shredding out power and torque outputs of 110 PS and 260 Nm. Transmission duties are done by a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AMT.
