The Compass was the best-selling Jeep car model in the American car brand’s line-up in India. Launched in 2017, Jeep Compass is due to receive its facelift in 2020. Starting off as a highly anticipated SUV in the market, the Jeep was selling well with an average monthly sales of around 1,500-2,000 units. However, after two years, the heat has worn off and the sales figure is nose-diving. One of the reasons is the increasing competition which follows the constant debuts of new models like MG Hector, Kia Seltos or Tata Harrier. Most of the new rivals are competitively priced and well-equipped.
Jeep Compass facelift will come with BSVI-compliant engines
To reinforce its competitiveness, Jeep will launch the facelift version of the Compass in order to reverse the sale inclination. The facelifted Jeep Compass will come with revised engines including a 2.0-litre diesel and 1.4-litre turbo petrol unit to meet with the BSVI emission norms. Jeep will enter the sub-4-meter SUV market in the following year
The details of this upcoming Jeep are not publicly revealed yet, but we can know for certain that it will feature the signature design of the American automaker along with its indisputable off-road capabilities. Rumour has it that a new 1.5-litre diesel engine which is a downsized version of the current 1.6-litre MJD oil burner will be employed on the new Jeep sub-4-meter SUV.
