Fossils fuels are one of the many depleting natural resources. However, engineers and scientists are finding ways to discover usable substitutes to fossil fuels. On the top-most position of this list is the electricity, as it can be developed via a lot of renewable energy sources. Thus, electric cars are considered as the mobility of the future. While the Americans have the Tesla, Indians are still some time away from affordable, fun, and practical electric vehicles. With the introduction of Pravaig Extinction MK1 Concept, however, the Indian audience can look at the EV segment with a different perspective. But how good is the Pravaig Extinction MK1 in real life? Here’s a video that sums up all about the Pravaig Extinction MK1, as the founder of Pravaig himself shares details about one while driving it on public roads.
The video was uploaded by MR. INDIAN HACKER on his YouTube channel. In the video, he gives a detailed walkaround of the Pravaig Extinction MK1 and then goes on a short spin with the founder of the Pravaig – Siddhartha Bagri. Bagri explains that Pravaig Extinction MK1 can accelerate from a standstill to 100 kmph in just 5.4 seconds. Also, with a fast charger, the Pravaig Extinction takes 30 minutes to charge the battery pack to provide a driving range of around 400 km. He also reveals that the Extinction MK1 will not be hitting the retail market. The brand is developing Extinction MK2, which will be a refined version of the concept model and will offer more practicality as well.
The Pravaig Extinction MK1 comes powered by a DC electric motor that sources power from a 96 kWh battery pack. While the electric motor can shed out 200 horsepower, the battery pack is rated to have a life expectancy of around 10 lakh km. The torque at wheels is claimed to be 2,400 Nm. Moreover, it has a top speed of 196 kmph, and the driving cycle is expected to be around 500 km on a full charge. Pravaig is planning to sell the Extinction via a leasing plan by early 2022. However, the brand is targeting to introduce it in Bangalore and Delhi initially, followed by sales in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai at a later stage.
