Exterior

Front

In the front, both of the vehicles feature Hyundai’s cascading grille but that on the new model is larger than that of the earlier one. The LED DRLs on the Grand i10 Nios has also been redesigned to become more stylish. The new Grand i10 Nios sports sculpted bumper, all-new sharper and more aggressive projector headlights with follow-me-home function), segment-first vertical projector fog lamps, and rising beltlines.

Side profile

Rear

They equip the Grand i10 Nios with a newly designed thicker and heavier bumper along with more fashionable wraparound tail lamps, which give the new vehicle a sportier look.

Interior

Seating layout

The Grand i10 is known for its comfortable cabin with cosy front seats which have neither soft nor hard cushioning, adjustable driver seat’s height along with adequate legroom and knee room for tall passengers. Having said that, since the Grand i10 Nios comes with a greater length and width figure than the outgoing model, the hatchback will provide more room for the rear passengers to sit more comfortably at the back. In comparison with the seats on the Grand i10, the Grand i10 Nios provides slimmer seats which offer the sense of a more spacious cabin.

However, while the rear seat row on the Grand i10 can be folded down, that on the Grand i10 Bios cannot. Unfortunately, neither of the two vehicles have the split-folding option on the rear seat row.

With a greater length and width, the new Grand i10 Nios ensures a more comfortable journey for the occupants with a larger rear seat row.

Interior Features

The cabin of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios gets a dual-tone paint scheme. The vehicle is equipped with a wide range of top-notch features including an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and particularly, Hyundai’s BlueLink feature. Actually, the Grand i10 Nios is the first vehicle in its segment to be available with the last feature.

A four-speaker Arkamys sound setup, automatic temperature control, a 5.3-inch semi-digital instrument cluster and a leather-wrapped driving wheel with control buttons for the audio setup are also packed on the new Grand i10 Nios. In the meanwhile, the Hyundai Grand i10 seems to lose in the comparison with a more limited number of advanced features. Stepping inside the cabin, you can still realize a dual-tone colour scheme. The most outstanding feature might be a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Additionally, four wide circular air conditioner vents, a deep-set instrument cluster, a three-spoke driving wheel with multi-function buttons are also on offer.

Meanwhile, the Hyundai Grand i10 comes with a less advanced cabin.

Safety features

Dimensions

The Grand i10 Nios is longer and wider than the Grand i10 by 40 mm and 20 mm, respectively and comes with a 15 mm longer wheelbase. Engine and transmission

The two engines on both of the two vehicles can churn out equal power and torque figures: 85 PS/114 Nm for the petrol version and 75 PS/190 Nm for the diesel version. However, the fuel mileage of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios experiences a remarkable improvement over that on the outgoing model. The most major update comes to the transmission options. This time, both of the petrol and the diesel motor options of the vehicle come with an AMT unit, unlike the previous model which comes with an automatic gearbox only on the petrol version.
