3. Kia Seltos Design Review

Exterior Review

After its official debut, the Kia Seltos starts off like a hot topic for discussion amongst the auto fans for its distinctive design. The South Korean automaker has, in fact, left no stone unturned to ensure that the Kia Seltos will be at the centre of attention. Given the responses and reactions the show-goers and enthusiasts have paid toward the brand new car, it is said that people are totally impressed by what they’ve seen from the new vehicle.

Normally, the production-spec models are somehow remote from its concept cars but things do not go as same as the Kia Seltos. In truth, the South Korean carmaker has really excelled in keeping the Seltos close to the Kia SP Signature concept, giving it a great street presence thanks to a modern-looking and masculine stance. The exterior design of the Seltos SUV is truly a head-turner. Every character lines and curves are really amazing. The front bumper is chunky and features silver inserts, increasing the sportiness of the vehicle. The front face of the Kia new car is dominated by the company’s signature bold 'Tiger Nose' grille with knurled-effect chrome finishes, giving a more premium feeling to the compact SUV. The other major highlights here include a multi-tier full-LED lighting setup. The front fascia of the Seltos has been neatly kitted out with a pair of ice cube LED fog lights and crown jewel LED projector headlights along with the presence of Kia’s iconic heartbeat-shaped daytime running lights. Particularly, a LED strip running from each headlight to the middle of the upper front grille signifies the width of the Seltos. The faux skid plates at the front also gives the car a more rugged look.

To stay in line with the sharp bold front end, the side profile of the SUV features a set of squared-off wheel arches with plastic cladding along with a strong shoulder line. The 17-inch diamond-cut alloys are very well-designed while the window line rises toward the rear end making an interesting contrast with the dropping roofline.

Again, we spot the presence of heartbeat-effect LED tail lamps connected by a thick chrome bar at the back. The rear bumper sports a twin-exhaust garnish and is sculpted with some sharp lines adding to the dynamism of the vehicle. The model looks pretty chunkier from the rear.
