Honda Motors is presently bracing itself for the official debut of the 2019 BR-V (facelift) at the 2019 International Indonesia Motor Show.

Almost around five years since the first BR-V prototype was unveiled at the 2015 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), the newest-gen Honda BR-V will, once again, clear out its cover at this Southeast Asia country, better says, at the International Indonesia Motor Show (IIMS) in April 2019. The very first BR-V models were launched in Indonesia in late 2015, then made its paths to Thailand and finally the Indian car market in the first half of 2016.

It is highly likely that the 2019 Honda BR-V (facelift) will show up to the whole world in a pre-production version at IIMS event scheduled on April 25. Specifics at the mid-life updated BR-V, as normally, will never be abundant at the moment, yet it is supposed to gain a high possibility to undercut the new-gen Toyota Rush and Daihatsu Terios, in a direct and excessive way.

The current-gen Honda BR-V has been available on sale at a price ranging from Rp 238-274 million (equal to INR 11.56 to 13.30 Lakh) in Indonesia. Power is generated by a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine which comes married to a 6-speed manual gearbox and an optional CVT transmission. The mill is capable of producing a hefty power- torque bracket of 120 PS and 145 Nm units. Whereas, in India, the Honda BR-V has gone on sale with two engine options comprising a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol along with a 1.5-litre i-DTEC EarthDreams oil burner. While the former version comes engaged with a 6-speed MT and is tuned for 119 PS of max power and 145 Nm of peak torque, the diesel variant can churn out the power output of 100 PS and 200 Nm torque and is supported by a 6-speed manual transmission.

Unlike in India, the Indonesia-spec current-gen Honda BR-V is available with only one engine option

In actual fact, the current Honda BR-V is totally deficient in its sale performance when compared to the best-selling Hyundai Creta in the domestic space. The Japanese-branded SUV saw a doomy sales average of 365 units registered from September 2018 to February 2019 on a monthly basis which makes it fall into the slowest-selling vehicle blacklist of its kind and furthermore, stand on the edge of being wiped out owing to the decent new model launches in the coming time.
