2020 Hyundai Verna was launched in China. Indian launch is expected to follow next year.

The 2020 Hyundai Verna has made its debut at the 2019 Chengdu Motor Show, Beijing. Shortly after that premiere event, Hyundai Verna was officially launched in China at the starting price of CNY 72,800 (Rs 7,32,103.74).

2020 Hyundai Verna was launched at the Chinese market 

Dimensionally, 2020 Hyundai Verna is 4,405mm long, 1,720mm wide and 1,455mm high, which makes it larger than the current model. The wheelbase measures at 2,600mm. The new version bears a completely revised exterior that looks sleeker and stylish to a greater extent. The 2020 update for Hyundai Verna is more of a new-gen upgrade rather than just a regular facelift as it is supposed to be. The front end design is altered to look more aggressive with new headlights, sharper 3-dimension radiator grille, thinner LED DRLs and revised bumper. Some of the new features are inspired by the Hyundai Elantra. To the rear end, the Hyundai Verna is redesigned to appear more muscular and longer. On the other hand, the side profile looks mostly the same except for the new dual-tone machined alloy wheels. It can come with either a 15-inch or 16-inch wheels.

On the inside, there are not as many updates as the exterior. The dashboard and even the steering wheel retains the same design. However, Hyundai Verna has adopted a new 12.3-inch full digital LCD instrument panel and a bigger floating touchscreen infotainment system equipped with Hyundai Connect system. In terms of the features, the interior is now updated with new wireless phone charging and automatic boot lid opener. On the safety front, Hyundai Verna is loaded with several advanced features including driver fatigue reminder, front collision warning brake system, lane keep assist system.

With regard to the engines, Hyundai Verna deprives power of a G4LC 1.4-litre petrol engine. This engine can deliver a maximum power of 100 PS and a peak torque of 132.2Nm. This engine can be mated to either a 6-speed AT and CVT transmission. The top speed is rated at 185kmph.

The India-spec is expected to be similar to the Chinese-bounce model. The all-new Hyundai Verna will roll off in India next year. The 2020 Hyundai Verna facelift might make its official debut in India at the 2020 Auto Expo.
