If you had plans of buying a sedan, well, now is the right time! Maruti Dzire is currently being offered with pretty substantial discounts.

Maruti Dzire is one of the most popular subcompact sedans in India, thanks to its brilliant combination of fuel economy, decent interior space, and affordable price tag. Earlier today, the company released a mid-life facelift for its hot-seller, which has led to the leftover stock of the pre-facelift version being sold with some huge discounts.

Pre-facelift 2020 Maruti Dzire BS6 is available with pretty hefty discounts

Maruti is offering a cash discount worth Rs. 40,000 on the pre-facelift Dzire, along with a corporate discount of Rs. 7,000. Apart from that, there is an exchange bonus available worth Rs. 30,000, which can be had on top of the value of the car you bring in for exchange. This brings the total discount up to a massive value of Rs. 77,000. At a base price of Rs. 5.82 lakh, these discounts would add up to reduce the price to Rs. 5.05 lakh, which is a great value for the car! To put that into perspective, consider the base price of the Swift hatchback, Rs. 5.19 lakh, higher than the discounted price of the Dzire.

Maruti Dzire is powered by a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated inline-4 ‘K12’ engine. It produces a maximum power of 83 PS and a peak torque of 113 Nm. The motor comes paired to a 5-speed manual as standard, and a 5-speed automatic transmission as an option on higher trim levels. The same motor and gearbox combinations are available in the Swift and Baleno as well.

As mentioned above, the company has just launched a mid-life facelift of its Swift-based sedan. The refreshed model comes with an updated fascia, additional equipment and a new engine that is not only more powerful but also more frugal. However, with the prices starting at Rs 5.89 lakh (ex-showroom), it turns out to be much costlier than the pre-facelift version, especially when you factor in the huge discount that is being offered. Hence, if you are in the market for a well-sorted compact sedan but are on a tight budget, it won't be a bad idea to bring home the pre-facelift version at such a huge bargain.
