2020 Tata Altroz Diesel Gets a SOLID Price Cut

Tata has slashed the prices of Tata Altroz diesel by Rs 40,000. The hatchback competes with the likes of Maruti Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20

Tata Motors has silently slashed the prices of the diesel model of Altroz. A few weeks back, the carmaker hiked the prices of Altroz petrol and diesel by Rs 16,000. In both situations, the price of base trim remained unaffected, while all the other trims have faced price increase. Now, however, except for the base XE trim, all the four main variants namely- XM, XT, XZ and XZ (O) - have received a price slash of Rs 40,000. These trims consist of many sub-variants.

For example, the XM trim has Rhythm, Style and R+S as different variants. Both are offered with petrol and diesel. A person has to pay some additional price for cosmetic upgrades and a couple of added features. Right now, Tata Altroz is the only car in its segment, which is offered with a petrol and diesel engine. It competes with the likes of Maruti Baleno and Hyundai Elite i20. Mechanically, it is powered by 1.2-litre Revotron petrol and a 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel motor. The former produces 86 PS of power and 116 Nm of torque, while the latter develops power and torque outputs of 90 PS and 200 Nm. The engine comes paired with a 5-speed MT.

Tata has plans to introduce a more potent 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine with the car in the near future. Inside it comes loaded with features like automatic rain-sensing wipers, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, semi-digital instrument cluster, steering mounted audio controls, automatic AC, rear parking camera, rear parking sensors and much more. In other news, Tata Altroz has become an official partner for the Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.
