Tata Motors on Monday has officially announced that its premium hatchback, the Altroz will become an official partner for the Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. The IPL 2020 is all set to begin on this September 19 and will be played across 3 venues in Dubai, Sharjah and Adu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. This action marks the third consecutive year of partnership between Tata Motors and BCCI for the IPL. Tata Nexon and Tata Harrier are the former partners for the same.

In January 2020, Tata set its first footstep into the premium hatchback segment with the Altroz. Unlike other Tata models in the stables, the Tata Altroz is based on the company’s new modular ALFA platform that is much lighter and stronger than the earlier architecture. Other than that, the Tata Altroz gets a pretty look with a distinctive front end and rear end, thanks to the presences of modern design cues like swooping beltline, flared wheel arches, aggressively cut rear-end among more.

Tata Altroz is also a well-equipped hatchback car of the lot. The top-spec XZ trim comes with a lot of creature comforts like keyless entry, flat-bottom tilt steering, steering-mounted audio control, cruise control, electric ORVMs, voice command, height-adjustable driver seats, single-zone climate control, Harman touchscreen multimedia system, rear AC vents and many others.

On the mechanical front, the Tata Altroz is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 85 BHP of power and 113 Nm of torque. There’s also a 1.5-litre diesel motor churning out 89 BHP of power and 200 Nm of torque. Currently, the Altroz is available with a single 5-speed manual transmission across the range. However, it is expected to get a DCT or a CVT option along with a turbo unit in the future. Spy shots of the Tata Altroz Turbo Petrol have surfaced on the media channels recently.

It is worth noting that Tata Altroz is the first car to be scored 5 stars from the Global NCAP safety test taken specifically for the Indian cars. Tata Motors is selling the Altroz in the price range of Rs 5.44 – 9.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it one of the safest cars under 10 lakhs in India.
