The patent images of upcoming new-gen Isuzu MU-X have recently got leaked. It’ll rival the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturas G4, and MG Gloster.

As we all know, the Isuzu MU-X is based on the D-Max pickup truck. The automaker revealed the all-new D-Max last year and the new-gen model of the MU-X was also expected to be unveiled soon. Nevertheless, that did not turn out to be the case. But, recently a few patent images of the new-gen Isuzu MU-X have got leaked in its home market Japan. At the moment, the automaker has not revealed any details about the upcoming new-gen Isuzu MU-X. The recently leaked patent images suggest that the all-new MU-X is not far away from its official launch. These images first emerged on Autoweek from Japan Patent Office. It seems like the upcoming Isuzu will share a number of components with the all-new D-Max.

Looking at the patent images, the front fascia of the second-gen Isuzu D-Max features sleek headlamps, redesigned grille and revised bumper with new fog lamp housing. It also features a new skid plate and a lower air-inlet. On the sides, the car has a larger greenhouse, robust wheel arches, high window line, pronounced character lines, and rising beltline. No major tweaks have been made to the side profile of the SUV. The rear profile of the SUV gets sporty-looking wraparound taillights, new fog lamp housing, a few chrome inserts and so on. The interior design of the SUV is still under the covers but is expected to look similar to that of the new-gen D-Max.

The all-new Isuzu MU-X is likely to hit the Indian shores by sometime next year. It will first enter the Southeast Asian market where it is more popular before launching in India. The SUV will be based on a ladder-frame chassis as the D-Max. Moreover, one can also expect the powertrain lineup to be identical to that of the D-Max with manual and automatic transmission choices and 4WD configuration in the top-spec trim. Once launched, it’ll rival the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Mahindra Alturas G4, and newly-launched MG Gloster.
