Recently, Nissan India has launched the all-new Nissan Magnite in the Indian market. After the launch of this compact SUV, the Nissan’s India-spec line-up for the mass market now consists of two models, the Nissan Kicks and Nissan Magnite. Launched in 2019, the Nissan Kicks is slated to get a facelift next year. Around the same time, the Japanese car manufacturer will also introduce the facelift in the global market. Recently, the upcoming facelift Kicks for the US market is revealed, which might give us some clues about the facelifted version for the Indian market.

Nissan Kicks facelift will be launched next year

On the existing model, Nissan Kicks features the signature V-motion grille design, which is likely to evolve into “Double V Motion” on the upcoming facelift. It is the same V-shaped grille but larger, more dominant and imposing. In addition, the new front end also fosters new LED headlights and revised front bumper. All in all, the facelifted  Nissan Kicks looks sharper and tougher. As for the SR variant, there will be LED fog lights as standard.

Even though it is only a facelift, the new Nissan Kicks will get some noticeable updates for the rear end. The rear design of the facelift Nissan Kicks gets some small updates including refreshed taillights with new LED light car running across the boot lid and a revised rear bumper. These small changes make the Nissan Kicks look less chunky and more serious. As for the side profile, the new Nissan Kicks gets an updated wheel design.

Apart from the exterior updates, the facelift Nissan Kicks also comes with some notable changes on the inside. On the base model, the Kicks receives a 7.0-inch touchscreen unit which will be replaced by a larger 8.0 touchscreen on the higher SV and SR trims. The top variants also receive features like automatic climate control, full-view camera, 7-inch digital driver display, leather-covered steering wheel, 6-way adjustable driver seat, USB Type-C ports, and heated OVRMs. What’s more, Nissan also offers an optional feature pack for the top-spec SR variants. This feature pack includes heated front seats, heated steering wheels, Bose sound system, and Nissan Connect system.

The powertrain options remain identical to the existing model. It continues to foster the same 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine which belts out 122 BHP and 154 Nm. CVT gearbox will be available as standard. However, this powertrain is unlikely to be brought to the India-spec model.
