Porsche has launched the updated version of its luxury 4-door GT, the Panamera. It now gets even more power, updated chassis, and latest features. Full story below.

Porsche India has launched the facelifted Panamera in India with prices starting from Rs 1.45 crore and goes up to Rs 2.43 crore. The Panamera will be available in four variants - Panamera, Panamera GTS, Panamera Turbo S and the Panamera Turbo S E-hybrid. The updated Panameras now gets more features, revised styling and an updated chassis.

Though it may look similar at first, the updated Porsche Panamera now gets a sharper front-end, with the entire range getting the previously optional Sport Design front-end which features a larger grille, larger side air vents and slightly re-designed headlights as standard. The Panamera Turbo S gets larger side vents to differentiate from the other variants. Over to the rear, the Panamera now gets LED taillights which span the width of the vehicle with the Porsche letters integrated into it. The GTS variant additionally gets a blacked-out taillight.

Inside, all variants of the facelifted Porsche Panamera now get wireless Apple Carplay, voice controls, and more features as standard compared to before. It also gets adaptive cruise control, lane change assist, matrix LED headlights, a night vision camera, parking assist with a 360-degree view, and a heads-up display.

The entry-level rear-wheel-drive Porsche Panamera is powered by a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 which makes peak power and torque of 330 PS/450 Nm. The Panamera GTS comes with a larger 4-litre V8 twin-turbo churning out 475 PS/650 Nm of peak power and torque. The Panamera Turbo gets the same 4-litre V8 as the GTS, but it has been tuned to make 625 PS/820 Nm of max power and torque. This gives the Turbo S a scarcely believable 0-100 kmph time of 3.1 seconds. The Panamera Turbo S also currently holds the fastest executive car record around Nurburgring.

The range-topping Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid gets an additional 140 PS from an electric motor, which combined with the V8 churns out max power and torque figures of 690 PS/870 Nm. The battery size has been updated to 18.9 kWh from the previous size of 14.1 kWh on the older hybrid models. This gives the S E-Hybrid an all-electric range of 59 kms as tested on the new NEDC conditions.

Porsche has also revised the suspension with improvements to the Panamera’s adaptive shock absorbers, changes to the active roll stabilization program and an improved torque vectoring system.
