The entry-level rear-wheel-drive Porsche Panamera is powered by a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 which makes peak power and torque of 330 PS/450 Nm. The Panamera GTS comes with a larger 4-litre V8 twin-turbo churning out 475 PS/650 Nm of peak power and torque. The Panamera Turbo gets the same 4-litre V8 as the GTS, but it has been tuned to make 625 PS/820 Nm of max power and torque. This gives the Turbo S a scarcely believable 0-100 kmph time of 3.1 seconds. The Panamera Turbo S also currently holds the fastest executive car record around Nurburgring.
The range-topping Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid gets an additional 140 PS from an electric motor, which combined with the V8 churns out max power and torque figures of 690 PS/870 Nm. The battery size has been updated to 18.9 kWh from the previous size of 14.1 kWh on the older hybrid models. This gives the S E-Hybrid an all-electric range of 59 kms as tested on the new NEDC conditions.
Porsche has also revised the suspension with improvements to the Panamera’s adaptive shock absorbers, changes to the active roll stabilization program and an improved torque vectoring system.
