6,200 Units Of Kia Seltos Delivered In August

Kia Seltos was launched on 22 August at the starting price of Rs 9.69 lakh. However, the booking was commenced earlier. Within three weeks after the booking openned, Kia has received over 23,000 bookings for its new mid-size SUV. Over one week after the launch, Kia has over 6,200 units delivered to its customers.

Fully equipped with various features, the Kia Seltos was priced competitively, contributing to the increasing demand. Kia Seltos was launched at the time when the competition peaked. Earlier, the British carmaker MG also introduced its first India-bound product, the Hector. This mid-size SUV from the MG also receives positive responses from the market. Unfortunately, the unexpectedly high demand has forced MG to freeze the booking. On the other hand, in Kia Seltos’s case, Kia manages to keep the demand-supply balance under control. In response to the increasing demand, Kia is considering to expand the production up by initiating second shift at its plant.

Kia Seltos is available with three engine options, namely, a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine (140 PS/242 Nm), a 1.5-litre petrol unit (115 PS/144 Nm) and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel (115 PS/250 Nm). A 6-speed manual transmission is available across the range. Each gets a different automatic gearbox option. First, a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine comes with a 7-speed DCT.
