Besides being the best-selling SUV in India in November 2020, the Hyundai Creta was also the sixth top-selling car in the country last month.
With the new-gen model introduced earlier this year, the Hyundai Creta continues to have an impressive performance in the Indian auto market. The new-gen Creta managed to score a good sales number last month with 12,017 units sold. The Creta has always been a great seller from the South-Korean carmaker's stable, and it is continuing to do the same in its new-gen avatar as well. Working around this figure, we could conclude that Hyundai sold around 400 Creta every day to achieve this number.
With the high sales figures, the SUV has not only become the best-selling SUV in India but also the sixth highest-selling car in the country. This sales number also helped the car record an 80% year-on-year sales growth in comparison with that in the same period last year when only 6,684 units of the SUV were sold.
Moreover, the Creta was also the best-selling car from the South Korean automaker in the Indian auto market last month with the highest YoY gainer. This can be explained by the advanced features, safety features as well as the new powertrains and transmission options that the SUV has received in the new generation.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hyundai Creta still managed to record a very good sales number last month.
The Creta receives its power from three different motors: a 1.5-litre NA gasoline burner which can generate 115 PS against 144 Nm, a 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine which can deliver 140 PS against 242 Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel unit which is good for 115 PS against 250 Nm. The 1.5-litre petrol motor is paired with a 6-speed MT and an optional IVT. The diesel unit is coupled with a 6-speed MT/AT. In the meanwhile, the most powerful turbo-petrol motor is mated to a 7-speed DCT.
The new Hyundai Creta is priced from INR 9.81 lakh to INR 17.31 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The SUV competes against the Nissan Kicks, Kia Seltos and even the slightly more expensive Tata Harrier and MG Hector.
