New-gen Hyundai i20 is all set to make its India debut soon. However, it has already been spotted at a dealership stockyard, thereby hinting at an imminent launch. Take a look at the pictures here.
Hyundai has introduced a lot of new cars this year, and all of them have turned out to be great sellers in the market. In November, Hyundai is planning to repeat the success story with the 3rd-gen i20. It has been reported that unofficial bookings for the new-gen model are open. However, the pictures of the all-new i20 reaching dealership are now floating around the internet. In the images, it can be seen that the new-gen model features a lot of distinctions in comparison to the outgoing model. Also, it gets new underpinnings this time.
On the front, the all-new i20 gets an even bigger cascading grille that merges into the upswept headlamps as on the Verna. The fog lamp housings are triangular in shape. Moving over to the sides, the new-gen i20 looks longer, although it manages to measures under 4 meters in length.
The alloy wheels are new as well and look beautiful. They measure 16-inch in diameter. At the rear, it gets sharply designed tail lamps, which are joined via a reflector strip that gives it a connected light bar-like effect.
For the interior, the all-new i20 gets dark-themed styling in comparison to the black-beige interior seen on the outgoing model. This time around, it will also come with an electronic sunroof. The older infotainment unit will make way for a new 10.25-inch touchscreen display. Other features will include automatic climate control, all-digital instrument cluster, Bose sound system and more.
The all-new Hyundai i20 will be offered with three engine options – 1.2L petrol, 1.5L diesel, and 1.0L turbo-petrol. The N/A 1.2L Kappa motor will boast of a rated maximum power output of 83 PS and peak torque of 113 Nm. The gearbox options for this engine will be limited to a 5-speed MT only. The turbo-petrol motor, on the other hand, will produce 120 PS of peak power and 172 Nm of max torque. It is likely to be offered with a 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT. The 1.5L oil-burner is expected to be used in the same tune as on the Venue, therefore churning out 100 PS against 240 Nm. It will come mated to a 6-speed stick-shift gearbox.
