BMW X7 Spied Testing In India

The most-awaited flagship SUV of the German carmaker, the BMW X7, has been finally spied in India. It will launch later this month and will cost roughly Rs 1.6 crore

We have come across some teasers and rumours about the Indian-spec BMW X7 in the last few days. Finally, the all-new X7 has been spotted testing with some camouflage on the public roads ahead of its launch in India. As has been confirmed by the automaker, the top-spec BMW X7 M50d is all set to be introduced in the Indian market this January 31, at the 2019 India Art Fair in New Delhi.

BMW announces to launch its first all-new X7 in India this month

First debuted at the 2018 LA Motor Show, the BMW X7 is the biggest sports utility vehicle of the German automotive giant. The car measures 5,151 mm in length, 1,990 mm in width, and 1,805 mm in height.

It is expected to be a blockbuster in the Indian SUVs segment

The range-topping BMW X7 M50d, which is ready for its launch on January 31, 2019, will source the power from a 3.0-litre quad-turbo inline 6-cylinder diesel engine that churns out 400 hp of max power and 760 Nm of peak torque. The mainstream variants include the xDrive40i and the xDrive30i and will be powered by a 340 hp, 3.0-litre 6-cylinder turbo gasoline burner and a 265hp, 3.0-litre 6-cylinder turbo diesel engine, respectively. All the mills will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission along with BMW’s xDrive four-wheel drive system.

Inside the cabin, the X7 will be identical to the new X5 in no small degree. The SUV will come packed with -

  • A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system

  • Digital instrument cluster

  • Four-zone climate control

  • Three-piece glass sunroof

  • Parking assistant

  • Seat-reclining function

The BMW X7 M50d will come to us via CBU route and will be priced at roughly Rs 1.6-Crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). The all-new SUV will compete against the likes of Mercedes-Benz GLS and the Land Rover Discovery in India.
