Nissan Pathfinder is set to return with a new generation overhaul. The new-gen model will come with an automatic gearbox.
Nissan Pathfinder was first launched in 1986. Recently, the vehicle was given a few new-gen updates which are intended to make it more attractive and desirable. The updates are comprehensive, ranging from refreshed design, new transmission options, 8-seater seating configuration, to other safety feature additions. To those who are not familiar with Nissan Pathfinder, this vehicle is currently taking on the likes of Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride.
New-gen Nissan Pathfinder will be introduced later this year
On the new-gen version, Nissan has returned to the aggressive styling approach. Previously, Nissan had received unfavourable responses from the audience when it first launched the previous version of the Pathfinder. The carmaker has taken this opportunity to fix the controversial design. To beef up the exterior design, Nissan gives the new-gen Pathfinder a new aggressive V-Motion grille with think chrome lining, boxy LED headlights with LED DRLs.
For the interior, Nissan Pathfinder is equipped with 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, as well as a 10.3 heads-up display. Other interior highlights include a wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 13-speaker Bose audio system, full-degree view monitor, and NissanConnect connectivity system. Customers are offered with a few upholstery colour options. For the new-gen Pathfinder, the Japanese car manufacturer provides the Nissan Safety Shield 260 Suite including auto emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, high beam assist and rear automatic braking, driver alert system, and lane departure warning.
Nissan Pathfinder will be available with an automatic gearbox
Nissan Pathfinder is powered by a 3.5-litre naturally aspirated V6 engine. It can generate a maximum power of 284 BHP and a top torque of 352 Nm. It is the same engine used on the previous model. However, Nissan has replaced the old CVT with a new 9-speed automatic gearbox.
The new-gen Nissan Pathfinder is likely to hit the market later on this year. However, it is unlikely that it will make its way to the Indian shore. For our market, Nissan is now enjoying considerable success with the launch of the Nissan Magnite last year. The compact SUV has attracted a good number of sales. Last month, Nissan has witnessed a staggering year-on-year growth of 220 percent.
