Here is the Mahindra Thar Special Edition that has been introduced in South Africa

Mahindra has introduced the Mahindra Thar Adventure Series Special Edition in South Africa. It is the same as the normal Thar in India but loaded with off-road features to attract young buyers, especially off-road enthusiasts.

The Mahindra Thar Adventure Series is inspired by on the normal 2.5 CRDe 4x4 SE variant of the normal vehicle. Available with the three paint schemes, DSAT Silver,Rocky Beige and Red Rage, it is equipped with a wide range of supplementary features, which contribute to its unique appearance. In the front, the vehicle is equipped an all-new bumper which has been specifically designed to further improve the approaching angle. This bumper has been provided by Bundu Gear, a well-known supplier of off-road accessories for Mahindra products. The bumper is integrated with LED lights sourced from Bundu Gear and a bull bar.

On the side profile, the vehicle comes with a Getec-sourced removable hardtop and even a normal canvas top. Other changes consist of rock siders on either sides, 'diamond-plated' metal side steps, fashionable alloy wheels which get Hankook Dynapro tyres which have been developed to tackle all terrains. The special edition receives a new plumber and a rear differential lock, like the normal version. Even a snorkel and tow hooks are added to the exterior of the Thar Adventure Series not only to enhance its appeal but also to increase its practicality.

As regards the interior, Mahindra Thar Adventure Series are packed with a wide range of features, some of the most outstanding ones include a Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning system, power steering, a 12V electric socket and front cup holders. It gets the power from a 2.5L CRDe engine which can deliver 104.6 hp of maximum power and 247 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated with a 5-speed MT gearbox, which sends the power to the four wheels through a Borg Warner 4×4 system with a low transfer case.
