With India currently going through a relaxed lockdown, there has been some positive growth in the Indian car market. Although the growth is slow, manufacturers are hopeful about the near future. In the sub-4-metre sedan class, Honda Amaze managed to score the third position in terms of sales volume during May 2020. In comparison, Ford Aspire was last in terms of sales, gaining the last spot in the sales chart during the same period.
Honda Cars India Ltd managed to ship 140 units of the Amaze in May 2020. Compared to May last year, when Honda Amaze sold 6,000 units, this number is quite small. As for Ford, the Aspire sold only 44 units in May 2020, which is also quite low compared to the car’s sales figure during May 2019 (761 units). Still, the situation is not as dire as it was during April 2020, when there were absolutely zero sales in the entire Indian auto market.
