Hyundai Creta EX variant has been launched at an ex-showroom price of Rs 10.84 lakh. It will eventually replace the entry-level E+ trim.

Giving its customers more features and a new variant to choose, Hyundai has launched the Creta with a new EX version that comes with added creature comforts. Eventually replacing the soon-to-be-discontinued E+ variant, the new option will sit above the base E model of the Creta and below the S variant. The Creta EX is available with both petrol and diesel engine choices but does not add any transmission choices to the mix.

The new EX variant of the Hyundai Creta will eventually replace the entry-level E+ trim.

While there are no changes in design or features over the E variant, all the extras have been provided inside the cabin. The EX petrol gets extra features in the form of LED daytime running lights, a rear seat armrest, adjustable rear-seat headrests and also, a reversing camera equipped. Opt for the diesel version of the EX, and you get even more features over the petrol version. These extra niceties include a 5.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted audio controls, two tweeters over the four standard audio speakers, a USB charging socket along with the 12V power socket at the front and sunglasses holder.

The Hyundai Creta is available with three engine options. The first is the 1.6-litre petrol unit which produces 123bhp and 154Nm of torque. The second option is a more frugal 1.4-litre diesel engine which is capable of belching out a respectable 90bhp along with a very healthy 224Nm of torque. The Creta also gets the option of a 1.6-litre diesel engine which delivers an output of 128bhp and 265Nm of torque, but that is not available on the EX variant. All the engine options on the EX variant are only available with a 6-speed manual transmission. Along with the addition of the EX variant in the Creta line-up, Hyundai has even discontinued the automatic transmission in the S variants and have now reserved it purely for the top-of-the-line versions, looking at buyers choosing habits.

The Hyundai Creta has always impressed with its comfortable and feature-laden cabin.

Prices of the new Creta EX have been kept at INR 10.84 lakh (ex-showroom) for the petrol-manual and INR 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for diesel-manual. With this addition, the variant list of the Creta now looks like this - E, EX, S, SX, SX Dual Tone, SX (O) and SX (O) Executive.
