Hyundai i10 Nios Gets COSTLIER

Hyundai Motor India Limited has announced a price hike for the i10 Nios. The car was launched in India in August 2019 and was priced from Rs. 4.99 lakh to Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan India). It was available with two engine options- a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.2-litre diesel. The former is capable of generating 83 PS and 114 Nm, while the latter can produce 75 PS and 190 Nm. A 5-speed manual transmission is available as standard, while a 5-speed AMT is offered as an option.

In February 2020, Hyundai added another engine to the i10 Nios range- a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine. It was the same unit as the Hyundai Venue, but was slightly detuned for use in the little hatchback. As such, the power output dropped to 100 PS, although torque remains constant at 172 Nm. It was priced between Rs. 7.68 lakh and Rs. 7.73 lakh. In April 2020, Hyundai added a factory-fitted CNG kit to the 1.2-litre petrol version, which was priced between Rs. 6.62 lakh and Rs. 7.16 lakh. This meant there was another option to choose from in this range- a petrol/CNG bi-fuel model.

Interestingly, in April 2020, Hyundai had also deleted some features in select trims of the Nios, while keeping the price constant. Now, with the latest price hike, the Hyundai i10 Nios is priced from Rs. 5.07 lakh to Rs. 8.15 lakh. The complete price breakdown is given below.
