Jaguar I-Pace to Launch in India This Year, Will Rival Mercedes-Benz EQC

The first Jaguar I-Pace has landed in India before going on sale later this year. Here's all you need to know about this wonderful EV that won the World Car of the Year title in 2019.

It has been just a week since the new year began, but we have already started to hear some exciting news from the market. Recently, Jaguar has confirmed that the Jaguar I-Pace will make its debut in the Indian market this year. Jaguar I-Pace is not an unfamiliar name. The car won the World Car of the Year title in 2019 and received positive reviews from critics all around the globe. To announce this good news, Jaguar has shared a few pictures of the I-Pace model across its social platforms. As per the report, the electric vehicle has finally landed on our shore at JNPT near Mumbai.

Jaguar I-Pace will go on various test and validation before going on sale

It is undeniable that the Jaguar I-Pace looks handsome with sporty design elements like the sloping roof, sleek LED headlights, eye-catching honeycomb pattern grille, and large air dam. When entering the India market, the electric SUV will get some distinctive design elements like the new alloy wheels. Dimensionally, the I-Pace is 4682 mm long, 2011mm wide and 1566 mm high. The wheelbase of the I-Pace measures at 2990 mm.

You will not be disappointed with all the cutting-edge and high-end features fitted on the Jaguar I-Pace. Jaguar I-Pace offers mind-boggling performance, long feature list, and stunning design

Jaguar I-Pace comes with one single powertrain setting which is the EV4000. This powertrain is capable of generating a peak output of 394 BHP and 696 Nm. This SUV makes use of a 90 kWh lithium-ion battery. The power is derived from two synchronous permanent magnet electric motors located on the front and rear axles. Hence, the I-Pace takes 4.8 seconds to run from 0 to 100 kmph. It is claimed to deliver a range of 480 km per charge. About the charging system, the electric car is offered with two charging methods, a 100kW fast charger and a regular charger. While the former takes only 45 minutes to charge from 0-80 per cent, the latter takes 10 hours using the 7kW AC wall box to complete the charging process.

In India, the Jaguar I-Pace will be available in three trims, S, SE, HSE. The top-spec HSE is expected to cost around 1 Crore. Before going on sale in India, the Jaguar I-Pace will undertake extensive testing and validation.
