The compact SUV space is currently the hottest segment in the Indian automotive market. Therefore, every automaker is trying to get the biggest share of this pie. While certain manufacturers are still some time away from entering this segment, Kia is all set to make its grand entry with the Sonet on August 7. We earlier brought you spy shots of the Sonet, which revealed a lot of details of the car’s exterior. This time around, we’ve come across the clearest pictures of the Sonet’s interior. These pictures were clicked by our avid reader Mr. Rajesh Kumar. These images have now revealed a lot of details about how the Sonet is going to be the inside.
To preserve the upmarket ambience of the bigger Seltos in the Sonet, Kia has used similar parts and design traits from the former. The Sonet gets the same steering wheel and infotainment screen as the Seltos, and so is the case with the unibody housing for instrument console and infotainment screen. The 10.25-inch infotainment screen will make the Sonet get the biggest touchscreen display in its segment.
Sadly, the Sonet misses out on the 7.0-inch TFT LCD for the MID. It gets a smaller multi-colour display along with digital speedo readout. Also, a lot of buttons are borrowed from the Seltos. Talking of the AC vents, they boast of a rectangular design and are vertically stacked. Coming over to the centre console, it gets an upright design. It houses the controls for the climate control unit, hazard lamps and more.
A GT Line badge can also be seen on the bottom-most part of the steering wheel. To keep the theme of the interior in cohesion with GT Line badge, it gets black-themed interior with contrast red stitching. In terms of features, the Sonet will come loaded to the gills. The features list will be the longest in the segment and will comprise of a Bose sound system, electric one-touch sunroof, steering mounted audio controls, cruise control, automatic climate control, UVO connected car features, auto-folding and adjustable ORVMs, wireless charging and more. On the safety front, it is expected to come loaded with features like traction control, ABS with EBD, ESP, TPMS, automatic headlamps, 6 airbags, and rear parking sensors with camera.
